Beginning in September 2023, Chen Bing Taiji Academy USA (CBTA USA) will become a subsidiary of Chen Village Tai Chi (CVT), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established by Master Bosco Baek prior to the pandemic. We envision a world where the life-enhancing benefits of Tai Chi can be experienced by anyone willing to explore this genuine practice for their well-being.
To realize this vision, Chen Village Tai Chi (CVT) will operate entirely through the generosity of community donations. We humbly accept contributions of any size. Each donation helps us maintain free access to our programs. As a registered non-profit organization, all donations to CVT are tax-exempt. Your invaluable contributions will directly support us in offering all classes free of charge, thus expanding the reach of Tai Chi's restorative powers.
The free courses offered by Chen Village Tai Chi (CVT) will include:
Tai Chi 99: Online Orientation
Tai Chi 100: Fang Song
Tai Chi 101: Stepping, Reeling Silk & Explosive Power
Tai Chi 102: Tai Chi Form Prep: Diamond Pounds Mortar (3 Variations: Original, Backward Step & Leg Reeling versions)
Tai Chi 103: Tai Chi for Longevity: Blue Dragon 8 Form
Tai Chi 201: Tai Chi for Falls Prevention
Tai Chi 202: Tai Chi for Insomnia
Tai Chi 203: Tai Chi for Spinal Ailments
Tai Chi 204: Tai Chi for Cancer
All programs will rotate every 10 weeks with a pre-arranged yearly schedule. There is no prerequisite to participate in any programs; however, as the series are numbered 100 or 200, taking a lower-numbered series is highly recommended before attempting an upper-level class.
Please keep in mind that Tai Chi 99: Online Orientation is an online lecture series that we are currently preparing. Its release has been delayed due to the high-resolution recording and editing process taking longer than we initially expected.
While CVT focuses on offering public classes to nurture the community, spreading the traditional teachings of Tai Chi for the benefit of all, Chen Bing Taiji Academy USA (CBTA USA) will refine its focus towards offering professional Tai Chi programs. This program is for those who are willing to follow the footsteps of classical instruction and aspire to become a professional Tai Chi teacher, separate from CVT's public classes. Enrolling in these professional programs requires a commitment and a contract, reflecting our dedication to maintaining the profound depth of classical Chen Family Tai Chi. This decision stems from over two decades of experience teaching the American community, during which we've observed that such depth may not fully align with the fast pace of modern societies due to its time-intensive nature.
Start your Tai Chi journey with our online orientation. Whether you are a novice or experienced, if you have not yet explored Tai Chi in its traditional form from Chen Village, this course is a must. Dive into Tai Chi's philosophy, its cornerstone concepts, and essential practices. Available online from April 2023, it's never been easier to step into the world of Tai Chi.
Starting from October 2023, the Orientation will be available online for added accessibility.
