Born in April 1978, Master Bosco Baek (白承哲) is a Korean-American Tai Chi master and lineage holder of Chen Family Taijiquan, as well as a 31st-generation descendant of the Suwon Baek Clan (水原白氏 文敬公派 休庵公派 堂山公系 31代孫), who has dedicated his life to the preservation and authentic transmission of classical Chinese internal martial arts and somatic practices.

His internal journey began at age 13 through traditional Qi Gong cultivation (中華養生益智功: Chinese Longevity Nourishing Wisdom Qigong). At 19, he immersed himself in Raja Yoga and Himalayan meditation, subsequently completing rigorous professional training in Hatha Yoga and Yoga Therapy at the Korea Yoga Academy. This early foundation established a lifelong synthesis of Eastern somatic philosophy, internal energy cultivation, and physical discipline.

In May 2000, Master Baek began his lifelong apprenticeship under Master Chen Bing, a 20th-generation representative and leading figure of Chen Family Taijiquan. Living and training directly in Chenjiagou (Chen Village)—the birthplace of Tai Chi—he absorbed the complete, unshortened classical system at its origin. Recognizing his devotion and exceptional aptitude, Master Chen Bing formally accepted Master Baek in December 2005 through the traditional Baishi (disciple initiation ceremony) in Chenjiagou. Master Baek holds the historic honor of being a 13th-generation lineage successor and a member of Master Chen Bing’s original "Old Ten Disciples" (老十徒弟)—the premier group of ten disciples formally inducted between 2004 and 2005.

Master Baek’s contributions to the preservation of classical Taijiquan have earned him the highest honors recognized by the traditional martial arts community:

• Chenjiagou Intangible Cultural Heritage Excellent Successor (2014): Awarded in Chenjiagou to only 18 representatives worldwide, Master Baek became the sole practitioner in North America to hold this prestigious designation—a seal of absolute authenticity, mastery, and tradition.
• Humanity Intangible Cultural Heritage Excellent Successor (2025): Elevated in May 2025, Master Baek holds the singular distinction of being the only designated successor in all of North and South America to carry this global heritage title.

In 2003, with the personal authorization of Master Chen Bing, Master Baek established the original foundation that evolved into the Chen Bing Taiji Academy USA (CBTA USA). In September 2004, he made history by organizing Master Chen Bing’s first official seminar tour in Chicago, laying the cornerstone for authentic Chen Family Taijiquan in the United States. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2009, Master Baek established the headquarters of CBTA USA. Today, it stands as the only academy in the United States authorized to impart the complete, unbroken lineage curriculum of Chenjiagou.
