Each course builds progressively upon the previous one, creating a safe, accessible, and systematic learning experience.
Whether your goal is general wellness, lifelong practice, or future teacher development, the Public Curriculum provides the essential first step into the original art of Chen Family Taijiquan.

The Traditional Five Kinds of Push-Hands (五種推手) preserve the classical partner-training system passed down through the Chen Family lineage since Chen Wangting, the founder of Chen Family Taijiquan. Through the progressive study of the Eight Gates & Five Steps (八門五步), practitioners develop Taiji Jin, sensitivity, rooting, timing, adaptability, and the practical body mechanics that form the foundation of authentic Chen Family martial training.
The Eight Essential Applications introduce the fundamental martial methods of Chen Family Taijiquan and demonstrate how the principles cultivated through Forms, Push-Hands, and Reeling Silk are expressed in practical application. These representative methods provide the foundation for developing continuous combinations, deeper martial understanding, and the classical free moving applications preserved in Chenjiagou, the birthplace of Tai Chi.
This specialized training system complements the Academy Curriculum through the Taiji Ruler, Taiji Ball, and Taiji Wheel, developing Reeling Silk Energy, Taiji Jin, structural integrity, whole-body coordination, and explosive power. These supplemental methods strengthen the internal mechanics that support advanced Forms, Push-Hands, Martial Applications, and Fajin.
