Our mission is to preserve and promote the original Chen Family Taijiquan, the mother form of Tai Chi. We aim to educate and improve health and well-being through physical practice, by restoring and promoting the classical teachings of Tai Chi as taught in Chen Village.
Our efforts are under the guidance of Master Chen Bing, who has inherited the lineage of the original Tai Chi created in Chen Village.
Furthermore, we strive to maintain the traditional martial-arts practical methods as taught in Chen Village. Our goal is to preserve the original techniques and forms that have been passed down from generation to generation, in order to ensure the continuation of this valuable martial art.

The first official North American branch of the academy was established by Master Chen Bing and his disciple, Master Bosco Baek, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, circa 2004. It was originally named the World Chen Family Taijiquan Association, which was subsequently changed to Chen Bing Taiji Academy in 2008, when Master Chen Bing founded his headquarters school in Chenjiagou.
Since its inception, Chen Bing Taiji Academy has earned widespread international recognition, and has established branches in several countries worldwide, including the USA, England, Italy, Chile, Switzerland, Argentina, Canada, South Korea, and Japan, among others.
Beginning in September 2023, Chen Bing Taiji Academy USA (CBTA USA) will embark on a new chapter, becoming a subsidiary of Chen Village Tai Chi (CVT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This strategic alignment is designed to broaden and diversify the Tai Chi training landscape, catering to a wider audience, from community enthusiasts to individuals aspiring to professional mastery.
CBTA USA will retain its concentrated focus on professional Tai Chi programs. This targeted approach creates a pathway for those earnestly seeking to follow the footsteps of classical instruction and aspire to become professional Tai Chi teachers, all while upholding the esteemed Chen Village standard. Simultaneously, CVT will assume responsibility for all community-based classes, allowing for a more inclusive reach.
This carefully planned division of roles enables both organizations to specialize in their unique areas, aligning with a shared mission: to spread, preserve, and honor the profound tradition of Chen Family Taijiquan.
